## About the role
Join a well-established electronics manufacturing services organisation as an NPI Engineer, where you will play a central role in bringing new products from development into full-scale mass production. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position that sits at the heart of the manufacturing operation, offering significant exposure to complex electronic assemblies and regulated product environments.
## What you'll do
- Lead and manage New Product Introduction (NPI) projects end-to-end, ensuring a smooth and controlled transition from the development or customer-handover stage through to stable mass production
- Coordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), assessing impact across production, quality, materials, and supply chain, and driving timely implementation
- Work closely with cross-functional teams — including quality, process engineering, supply chain, and customers — to resolve production issues and ensure product integrity
- Conduct root-cause analysis on manufacturing nonconformances and lead Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities to closure
- Support process validation activities, including IQ, OQ, and PQ, and maintain associated documentation in line with applicable quality management system requirements
- Prepare and maintain NPI-related documentation such as work instructions, process flow charts, control plans, and risk assessments
- Track NPI project milestones, report progress to stakeholders, and proactively manage risks and action items to keep programmes on schedule
- Liaise with customers during the NPI phase to clarify technical requirements, communicate progress, and ensure alignment on deliverables
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, cycle time, and overall manufacturing efficiency
## What we're looking for
- At least five years of relevant experience in PCBA or electronics manufacturing services (EMS), with a demonstrated track record in NPI and product engineering roles
- Solid understanding of PCBA processes, including SMT, through-hole, and functional testing methodologies
- Experience managing ECN workflows and coordinating changes across multiple stakeholders in a structured manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to lead CAPA investigations using structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, Fishbone, or 5-Why
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management system; familiarity with ISO 13485 or FDA regulatory requirements for medical devices is a strong advantage
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple NPI programmes concurrently
- Effective communicator able to work across engineering, quality, operations, and customer-facing teams
- A diploma or degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
